Our new Chef, Efrain Cuevas, has brought his award winning BBQ to SmithHouse (Bronze Medal in the Memphis in May International Competition) To provide the perfect accompaniment, he also redesigned the menu, concentrating on fresh and local ingredients to create an exciting array of dishes designed to share amongst family and friends.
SMITHHOUSE TAP & GRILL
Curtis Nysmith in looking for a great spot for his new concept decided to take over the long vacant Kula sushi space just across the way from Westfield Century City Mall and open SmithHouse Tap & Grill. The now complete restaurant and bar includes antique brick arches, copper lighting fixtures, flat screen tvs, and oversized comfy leather booths, five with built-in table-tap beer systems.
ABOUT THE BEER SYSTEM
In this day and age, beer has gone beyond the standard 3 or 4 national brand choices on tap at your local restaurant or bar. Today beer is becoming a topic of discussion everywhere. We used to go to wine tastings and learn to pair it with food. Lookout wine… Craft beer has taken pairing to a entire new level. and one of sophistication.
Why 120 beers? Why not. We see hundreds of wines offered at great eateries. So let’s offer you a great selection of beers from around the world. Yes we also have a great wine selection as well.
What makes our pour the best?
There are tons of establishments serving dozens of beers. 99% of those beers offered are all served at the same temperature and pressure.
Yes, different beers need different temperatures and pressures. When served properly, the aromas, flavors and finish are delivered just as the brewer wanted when first creating their blend. This is why SMITHHOUSE has 6 different temperature zones and each line is pressurized according to the individual brewers precise specifications.
Our beer lines not only keep your beer at the perfect temperature and pressure, but when the keg goes dry, the system automatically pulls any residual beer and foam out of the lines, self cleans all 157 feet of line (per tap) reloads the beer in such a way that foam will not clog the line and thus create a bad pour.
Our highly trained bartending staff are always ready to pour your perfect beer and can have a great conversation about beers and the craft thereof.
WHAT… “POUR YOUR OWN” ???
No there is no keg under the table. These 5 custom booths have dual rotating tap systems. It’s just as cold as the beer served at the bar. Just as fresh and just as clean. There is a computer built into the tap system that monitors your pour and updates the bartenders. Don’t worry, if you can’t pour a perfect beer, thus some overflow foam occurs, the built in drain will capture it. Come in and try it out. But I suggest making a reservation first! They get booked quick.
