During weekdays, the music at this Mott Street bar in New York – if any – is considerately quiet, creating a calm atmosphere that lures freelancers here in their droves. The comfy sofas, sensible tables and chairs, well-priced cocktails and grown-up ambiance all do their bit, too. Just like many 'real' workplaces, Epistrophy 'shuts down' at 5pm every weekday (that is, the Wi-Fi is literally switched off at this point).
