9 Top Bars in Europe

9 Top Bars in Europe

We all know which is our favourite local pub or bar but where should you head when you go a little further afield? From Paris to Prague, Barcelona to London, here is a selection of some of Europe’s best for those who like to spread their wings every once in a while.

Candelaria, Paris: There are not many cities that can beat Paris and this bar makes going there even more appealing. Quality eats and excellent cocktails all served in a chic yet intimate environment. A great place to while away a Saturday night.

Ruby, Copenhagen: You’ll need a good drink in you if you head this far north in the winter and this would be the best place to do so. A beautiful townhouse converted into a bar on a number of levels, it has set the bar high for the region.

Black Angel’s Bar, Prague: Amazingly well prepared cocktails and a beautiful classical environment in which to enjoy them in. The only problem with this bar is that might you never want to leave!

@ la quinta roof bar

Betty Ford’s, Barcelona: Set in the cool Raval district of Europe’s go to destination this great little place is the spot to head to for burgers, cocktails, and people watching. Cheap prices and wicked ambiance, what else could you ask for?

Buck and Breck, Berlin: No list like this would be complete without a mention of Berlin, the place that follows fast on the heels of Barcelona as the continent’s coolest destination. This also happens to be one of Europe’s most exclusive bars as it only has room for 14 people!

Hidden Bar, Ibiza: Barcelona and Berlin are super cool but everybody knows that Ibiza is where it’s at over the summer months. Stay outside the tourist trap that is San Antonio and you will find gems like this place spread all across this amazing island.

Ibiza Sunset

A38 HAJO, Budapest: This is something a little different as it is a bar on a decommissioned Ukrainian stone hauler ship. In a city that is not known as the Paris of the east for nothing you are spoilt for choices when it comes to socialising and this place is the best of the lot.

Vista, London: It might not be as cool as some of its younger upstarts such as Barcelona and Berlin, or as romantic as Paris, but London is still one of the most popular and influential destinations in the world. Vista rooftop bar is an A-list and hipster magnet. It more than doubled in size last year, offering more patrons optimized sixth-floor views over Nelson's Column, jutting up from the square below, and iconic London landmarks like Big Ben and the London Eye.

Q Lounge, Oslo: Perhaps not the rooftop to be on in the winter months, this sleek Scandinavian minimalist design, with wooden platforms and furnishings, and plush white and red cushions and umbrellas is a must visit in the summer when the nights just never end. Sip cocktails and champagne under the midnight sun, while ogling Oslo's city centre, including the Akershus Castle and Oslo Fjord.

So there’s your list now all you need to do is get your flights booked and your glad rags on. The bar matsare all perfectly lined up, the staff look perfect, and all they want to do is to serve you the best cocktail you’ve ever tried. Cheers!
