Lion's Head Tavern
The Lion's Head Tavern is quite the popular Columbia University-area institution with a friendly staff, a relatively casual vibe, some great drink specials including three dollar pints of Blue Moon, a fave of mine, and some pretty good eats, too. If you go on a Saturday afternoon, you can actually nab some really tasty wings to wash down with some one dollar drafts. Not a bad deal at all. The crowd here is a mostly mixed bag, which keeps it interesting, and added bonuses are darts, board games, decent music and some stellar tater tots.
25 cent chicken wings/$1 draft beer Saturdays, friendly staff, somewhat mixed crowd, good music, games.
Can get a little swamped with the collegiate crowd certain nights.
