Appearance: Gold.

Nose: A complex of sweet floral fragrances, riverside herbs and flowers with some honey and vanilla. 'The most complex nose of any malt whisky' (Jackson).

Body: Firm, rounded, light to medium.

Palate: A strong malty taste with hints of sweet wood smoke and sandalwood.

Finish: A long malt-driven finish with light smoke and hints of sweetness.

A surprising scotch - great taste and value
I tasted this one side by side with the pricier Glenlivet 18 and while I wouldn't call this 12 year old a clear winner, it definitely stood up against the more expensive scotch.

This is one that will be a standard in my cabinet.

Excellent taste and nose... a bit on the sweet side; a really enjoyable scotch
